Description
We see a world where we all contribute to a thriving planet and together, we are a collective force for good. The Planet Mark is a sustainability certification which recognises outstanding achievements, encourages action, and builds an empowered community of like-minded individuals. We work with businesses to rigorously measure their carbon footprint and social value, engage their staff and supply chain to unlock their knowledge and drive passion for change, and communicate their progress to build a positive brand. We help businesses put a purpose at the heart of their organisation that brings social, environmental, and economic considerations together.
Planet Mark is owned by Alcumus and sits as a stand-alone division within the Alcumus group alongside the Safe Contractor Division and the ISOQAR division. Alcumus is a successful and globally expanding enterprise with a longstanding commitment to promoting safer and more sustainable workplaces.
We're looking for an experienced Sustainability Consultant to join our Measurement team and play a key role in helping businesses progress on their Net Zero journey. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience calculating carbon footprints across all three scopes, a genuine passion for sustainability data, and a drive to support organisations in making meaningful climate action.
What that means day to day
- Calculating or conducting verification of full carbon footprint assessments (Scope 1, 2 and full scope 3) and reporting using data management software for our wide range of members as they aim to achieve the Planet Mark Net-Zero Certification.
- Data gathering and member relationship management including delivering data calls and any other customer support activities.
- Independently project managing diverse certification timelines and deliverables, including managing time resource from junior members of the team on such projects.
- Training other members of the team to deliver Planet Mark Net-Zero Programme.
- Business development / proposal support and subject matter expertise for existing and new members as required.
What you'll need to be successful
The successful candidate will have at least three years of experience in a similar role and between three and five years of experience calculating carbon footprints. They will bring strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and may also hold a degree or qualification in sustainability, mathematics, or statistics, although this is desirable rather than essential.
