We're looking for a proactive Service Manager – Fire and Building Safety within Homes & Neighbourhoods portfolio to lead our Fire and Building Safety, and housing investment plans across Kirklees.
As Service Manager – Fire and Building Safety, you'll support the Head of Service with strategic, operational, fire & building safety expertise and financial management across the service. You'll lead teams focused on Fire and Building Safety regulatory compliance, ensuring our homes are safe, sustainable, compliant and meet the needs of our communities.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Oversee building safety compliance across fire, asbestos, gas, electrical, water, and lifts.
- Lead and coordinate the development and delivery of a robust regime for Fire & Building safety management and related compliance and performance reporting
- Lead the collection, management and use of building safety data to enable timely actions to be taken and compliance maintained.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and other key enablers and partners to develop and deliver programmes of work, commissioning specialist input where required.
- Support the development of standard operating procedures and continuous improvement.
- Lead and manage technical teams and ensure effective performance and delivery.
- Collaborate with tenants, elected members, and partners to shape service improvements.
- Ensure complaints are handled efficiently and service gaps are addressed.
- Promote tenant satisfaction and safe, secure homes through quality service delivery.
What We're Looking For:
- Strategic leadership experience in housing asset management, and, or building safety.
- Strong understanding of housing standards, compliance, and safety legislation & regulations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, teams, and service transformation.
- Commitment to council values: Positive, Honest, Respectful, Flexible, Communicative, Supportive.
- Ability to travel independently across Kirklees.
