We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Stoke Heath, working as a Senior Administrator. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week, and requires some earlier starts, which are organised via rota system. Available shift patterns are as follows:
  • Shift A 07:30 - 16:15
  • Shift B 08:00 - 16:45
  • Friday A 07:30 - 11:30
  • Friday B 08:00 - 12:00

Site Information

HMP Stoke Heath, located near Market Drayton in Shropshire. it is a Category C prison that houses adult male offenders and young adults. The teams aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe and where causes of prison stress are minimised. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:
  • Hold qualifications at level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or be willing to work towards within agreed timescales.
  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 2 qualification related to ICT or Business Administration (or have relevant industrial experience and skills)
  • Have experience of performing effective and efficient administration within a busy office environment.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to maintain accurate electronic and paper-based data recording systems.
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Demonstrate effective time management
  • Have developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have demonstrable customer service skills
  • Have up-to-date IT skills and a willingness to engage with innovative tech solutions, if required
