Role

We are looking for a Concrete Operations Manager within our Infrastructure department, based in our Rotherham office.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our concrete testing services, ensuring operational workloads are on target to deliver a trusted service to our clients — on time, every time.

You will report to the Business Unit Manager.

During the development phase of the concrete testing service line, the role will involve a mixture of office work and site inspection activities.

How You'll Contribute

• Manage daily and weekly operational workloads for the developing concrete inspection function and existing service lines, using company systems for efficient planning and delivery.
• Plan resources including staff, plant and equipment.
• Ensure quality control and compliance (UKAS).
• Liaise with clients and respond to queries.
• Support staff training and development, with an objective to cross-train the asbestos survey team and concrete inspectors to create a multi-disciplined team.
• Maintain excellent customer relationships and provide technical assistance.
• Work proactively with the management team to monitor current and future workload requirements, ensuring timely delivery of services.
• Collaborate with Technical Assurance Managers to maintain high standards and follow up on improvement actions.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Lucion's technical operating procedures and ensure compliance through quality checks.
• Respond to day-to-day enquiries and operational requirements.
• Undertake additional duties as requested by the operational management team.

Knowledge and Skills

• Relevant training (in-house or external) and practical experience in concrete testing.
• Proven experience managing workloads and delivering on time.
• Experience coordinating a team and delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm.
• Strong aptitude for consistent on-time delivery.
• Relevant technical competence and experience.
• Excellent IT and technical skills.
