Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our team in a Residential Children's home.

You will support the young people aged between 8-16 years of age with emotional behaviour difficulties (EBD) to maximise their opportunities and strengths and to address their needs by:

  • Providing a warm and welcoming environment for young people to thrive and achieve their best outcomes.
  • Providing support and reassurance.
  • Ensuring an excellent service is delivered at all times.
  • Encouraging development using life skills.
  • Providing a safe and secure environment.
  • Being a positive role model.
  • Supporting with financial management and budgeting in preparation for adulthood.
  • Ensuring house administration, daily paper work, petty cash books and recording are to the required standard.
  • Work closely with external professionals, including Social Workers, Techers and Health care professionals.
  • Giving your team clear direction and motivation through challenging times.

What you need to succeed:

  • Enhanced DBS Check
  • Flexiblity
  • Full clean UK driving Licence
  • Level 3/4 Diploma is Residential Childcare or Equivalent
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Sleep-ins as required
  • On-calls as per the rota pattern
  • Overtime as required
  • The ability to supervise and develop a dedicated team of staff
  • Previous experience and knowledge of working with Behavioural and Emotional difficulties and challenging behaviour.
  • 24 months of experience within a care related role
  • 12 months of experience at a senior level
