SHARE is a 13-bed social care provision based near Halifax town centre that supports people over the age of 18 who are experiencing episodes of mental ill health that is impacting on their daily life and require a short period of assessment of any care and support under the Care Act.

Within these 13 beds there are 2 crisis beds available to support individuals requiring crisis intervention as an alternative to hospital admission and 1 respite bed which provides short stays away from the home environment enabling carers to have periods of independence in their lives. We also operate an out of hours telephone support line.

Referrals can be taken from any professional from Adult Social Care, Community Mental Health Services, Acute / Rehab Wards, or internally from people stepping down from crisis beds for a period of assessment or intervention.

The aim of the service is to promote people's mental health recovery, functioning and autonomy to enable them to live successfully in the community with maximum independence and quality of life.

The postholder will work with individuals to improve the overall quality of life by addressing social, emotional, and practical needs.

The postholder will be required to mainly work waking nights this is a lone working post with the support of a member of the team who will be on 'sleep in' duty within the building.

This position is intended to cover shortages of staff resulting from annual leave, sickness absence, and maternity leave.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed colleague to join our friendly team, the successful applicants will be expected to be imaginative and resourceful. They will have a positive and optimistic view of the process of change. Applicants should understand the issues surrounding supporting the recovery of people who experience mental ill health.

Applications are invited from people with experience of mental health and social care settings, who can demonstrate their ability to work as a team member without direct supervision. They will be expected to hold a recognised certificate in Health and Social Care level 3 or equivalent.

Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
