Technical Support Officer (Building Control)

Reports To

The Technical Support Officer will report to Business Support Manager

Responsibilities and Duties

We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Support Officer (TSO) to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with developer, clients to support them in achieving compliance with Building Regulations. Your primary responsibility will be to gather, verify, and manage project documentation using our bespoke software system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with applicants and agents to request and obtain required documentation.
  • Accurately input and update project records, chasing outstanding information when necessary.
  • Support the surveying team by preparing project files for final audit. This includes collating all relevant completion documents, commissioning certificates, and declarations to assist technical staff in the assessment of compliance.
  • Respond to general client and supplier correspondence via email and post in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Achieved or willing to obtain a Level 4 Certificate in Building Control.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades A*-C/ 9-4), including English and Maths (or BTEC equivalent).
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organised with the ability to effectively manage a varied and busy workload.
  • Able to work independently and follow established policies and procedures.
  • High attention to detail and a willingness to learn quickly.

Pay: £25,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
