Position Summary:
This role is part of the European Tax Centre of Excellence and is responsible for managing direct tax reporting and compliance across multiple markets in the region. It also involves providing tax-related guidance, coordinating with external advisors and global tax teams as needed.
The individual is expected to stay up to date with local tax legislation and act as a trusted internal consultant to meet stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit US tax reports, including quarterly current and deferred tax provisions, contingencies, and projections using relevant tax technology.
- Coordinate annual transfer pricing documentation, including financial analysis and collaboration with commercial teams and external advisors.
- Oversee the preparation of annual corporate income tax returns and related payments.
- Engage with tax authorities when required.
- Prepare annual tax disclosures for statutory financial statements and respond to auditor queries.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation, assess impact, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in internal projects to support direct tax compliance and advisory needs, leveraging third-party resources where appropriate.
- Contribute to strategies focused on standardization, automation, continuous improvement, and risk management, including the use of tax technology.
- Provide cross-market support as needed.
- Fulfill all other reporting obligations as required.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified Accountant and / or Chartered Tax Adviser.
- Extensive experience of tax compliance in at least one jurisdiction in a practice, or multi-national corporate tax environment or equivalent.
- Tax experience from a life science company covering more than one country.
- Experience of indirect taxes desirable.
- Fluency in English.
