Overview

This is your opportunity to join a high-performing team at the heart of financial crime prevention. As a
Senior Detection Analytics Analyst
, you'll work within the
Detections Analytics
team - the first line of defence against suspicious and deceptive financial activity at NatWest Boxed.

You'll use data-driven insights and behavioural analysis to develop and improve transaction monitoring logic, helping to protect both customers and the broader financial system from harm.

The Role

As a Senior Detection Analytics Analyst, you will:

  • Develop and optimise transaction monitoring rules to detect unusual or high-risk financial activity.
  • Use intelligence and data analysis to identify patterns and mitigate emerging financial crime threats.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to tailor the user interface of transaction monitoring tools based on feedback.
  • Carry out behavioural research to distinguish between normal and anomalous activity.
  • Support testing and configuration of detection logic alongside other data specialists.
  • Balance precision and agility in delivering changes that enhance fraud and risk detection.

You're a logical thinker who enjoys solving complex puzzles and making a real-world impact through data. You thrive in analytical roles where curiosity, persistence, and clear communication are valued.

You will:

  • Have strong analytical skills and enjoy untangling complex problems using data.
  • Be comfortable working with large datasets and using data to drive decision-making.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and confidently across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Be committed to reducing harm caused by financial crime and improving customer safety.
  • Be excited by collaborative problem-solving, even when the path forward isn't immediately clear.
  • (Bonus) Have some programming experience – but this is not essential.
