The Engagement Lead plays a central role in planning and delivering an exceptional programme of events and activities designed to inspire prospective families and partners. The postholder ensures that each interaction — from first contact to attendance at open days, scholarship events, and international fairs — reflects the Christ's Hospital ethos and contributes to a positive admissions journey. This role directly supports the Director of Admissions & Marketing and involves hands-on coordination of the department's events programme, both in the UK and abroad. It requires a confident communicator with strong organisational and administrative skills, able to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and precision.

Key Responsibilities

Engagement & Events

  • Manage the school's calendar of marketing and admissions events, including open mornings, taster days, scholarship assessments and other visitor experiences.
  • Take direct responsibility for event administration, including booking venues, liaising with staff, organising logistics, and ensuring risk assessments are completed.
  • Provide 'on the day' support to ensure all events run smoothly, representing the school with professionalism and warmth.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with event attendees, including invitations, confirmations and post-event follow-ups.
  • Maintain and update event records, attendance data and feedback to inform improvement.
  • Attend Saturday Open Mornings (approximately three per year).

International Engagement

  • Represent Christ's Hospital at fairs, exhibitions and promotional events, involving international travel.
  • Coordinate logistics and materials for international events in collaboration with the Director and International Admissions team.

Scholarship Programme

  • Lead the organisation and administration of the Scholarship Programme across Full Fee Paying (FFP), Fee-Assisted Day (FAD), and Bursary applicants.
  • Liaise with academic and pastoral staff to manage assessment logistics, communications, and outcomes.

General Duties

  • Provide logistical support to the Director of Admissions and Marketing across departmental projects.
  • Support the wider marketing and admissions team during peak recruitment periods.
  • Undertake other duties reasonably requested by the line manager.

Person Specification

  • Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of scholarship and admissions processes.
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, confident manner.
  • Experience coordinating events from planning to delivery.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital tools.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to travel and represent the school at domestic and overseas events.
  • Experience working in an independent school or education setting.
  • Experience using CRM or event management software.
  • Experience working with agents.
  • Experience updating marketing content.
