The Role
Nuvei's Solutions and Implementations department includes a team of Solution Architects and Analysts, expanding their scope to include ownership of technical partner relationships, driving best-practice implementations, and ensuring our payment flows deliver optimal business results. Beyond technical excellence, the Director is accountable for the contribution and product setup of our partnership integration utilized by Nuvei.
As the Director of Payment Solutions is a senior leader in the Solutions organization. This role owns the strategy, execution, and performance of our global partner and supplier ecosystem — including acquirers, sponsor banks, alternative payment providers, and local payment services. This position requires deep payments expertise, proven leadership in building teams, and the ability to balance technical, product, and relationship dimensions of complex partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Product or Technical Leadership
- Define and execute the strategy for payment partner integrations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client needs.
- A key expert and leader with knowledge in payments, in SaaS and Acquiring technologies, integration frameworks and able to define, design and implement sophisticated techniques to deliver best-in-class technical product services.
- Technical Partner P&L and KPI Ownership
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with suppliers of Nuvei, i.e. Schemes, APMs, and local providers.
- A creative technology driver, who defines most advance payment orchestrations with an out-of-the-box thinking and absorbing initiative to identify relevant platform setup for outstanding results.
- Analyze and define product gaps and take a main role in shaping and designing the SAAS products (Front-End and Back-End products), payment features and Nuvei technology services.
- Monitor and report partner performance against KPIs; take corrective action to improve results, contribution and optimization.
- Technical Relationship Management
- Oversee best-practice implementations across transaction flows, user experience, risk/chargeback management, onboarding, underwriting, and reconciliation.
- Ensure partners deliver required APIs, automation, tokenization, subscription/MIT, authentication, and reporting capabilities.
- Champion operational and technical excellence to improve reliability, efficiency, and customer experience.
- Team & Department Leadership
- Lead and mentor Solution Architects and Analysts; foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and technical depth.
- Align resources and processes to support product demand funnel, analytics, and gap analysis.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, Risk, and Compliance to deliver integrated solutions.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and operational practices.
- Highly skilled at applying consultative methodologies and solve implementation pain points, while architecting features into best-in-class solutions to answer business pressing demands.
- Provide insights to leadership on market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging payment technologies.
Requirements
- 10+ years of payments industry experience.
- +6 years of partner / product implementations and solution experience working as an engineer.
- +5 years of experience within leadership role in the payment's industry.
- +5 years knowledge of proven work with Payments Products or SAAS technologies (SDKs, APIs, iFrame, Hypertext Transfer Protocol) and web applications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Single Sign-On, etc.).
- Demonstrated P&L ownership or direct responsibility for partner commercial performance.
- Deep knowledge of acquirers, PSP, sponsor bank, and local payment method ecosystems.
- Strong technical understanding of APIs, payment flows, tokenization, authentication, reconciliation, and reporting tools.
- B.S. in Information Systems, Engineering or related field.
- Experience leading global teams of architects, analysts, or engineers.
- Experience in monitoring and defining KPIs.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling and methods of optimization.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Creative thinker and experienced at understanding client's potential pain points.
- Passionate about technology and building partnerships.
- MBA or MSc is an advantage.
