Job Specification

MATERNITY COVER

  • Dispensing medications as prescribed in a busy and fast paced healthcare environment
  • Already trained or willing to train, as a technician
  • Reviewing prescriptions to ensure accuracy and to evaluate their suitability for the patients
  • Providing information and advice about drugs, their side effects, correct dosage and proper storage
  • Providing other health advice, such as guidance on stopping smoking, vaccination etc
  • Keeping records such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, and registries of poisons, narcotics or controlled drugs
  • Ordering and receiving pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies
  • Maintaining stock and storing and handling it properly
  • Significant involvement in the running of the dispensary and pharmacy
  • Significant involvement in delivering patient services in the pharmacy consultation room (Blood pressure, vaccinations, stop smoking services etc)

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a pharmacy is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
