As a Skills Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting staff and students within our dynamic Hair and Beauty department, helping to create an engaging, professional and high-quality learning environment.
In this exciting role, you will:
- Provide technical and learning support to staff and students during practical sessions.
- Undertake assessment and quality assurance duties in line with College and awarding body standards.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
- Give constructive feedback to students to support their progress, achievement and confidence.
- Manage stock control, including ordering, maintaining and issuing supplies and equipment.
- Contribute to a positive and professional salon and classroom environment, reflecting industry standards.

Essential information:
Hours per week: 28 hours
Weeks per year: 40 (during term time plus two weeks)
Salary per year: £14,983
Holiday pay per year: £2,171
Working Pattern: For discussion but to be spread across Monday to Friday

As a Skills Practitioner you will bring your industry expertise and passion for learning to inspire the next generation of skilled professionals.
- Organised and efficient team member with excellent communication skills.
- Support and facilitate learners on practical tasks to enhance their skills and confidence.
- Deliver classroom demonstrations to aid outstanding teaching and learning within EKC Folkestone College.
- Recent industrial experience in a relevant trade or discipline.
- Qualified to Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area.
- Experience in education or workplace training (desirable).
- Ability to work effectively with young people, helping them achieve their full potential in line with the College's values and ethos.
- Maintain and promote high Health & Safety standards in all practical learning environments.
- Manage and order resources and materials efficiently, ensuring effective use of budget.
