Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing the quality of life for clients by delivering personalised care in a respectful and dignified manner. This role requires a commitment to understanding the unique needs of each individual, particularly those requiring assistance with daily living activities.

Duties

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
  • Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
  • Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines.
  • Monitor and document changes in clients' health or behaviour, reporting any concerns to relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with medication management as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Offer specialised care for individuals with conditions such as dementia, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living space for clients, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Skills

  • Proficiency in medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • Experience in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of assisted living practices and home care services.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to individual client needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and patience in all interactions.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when assisting clients.
  • Experience in meal preparation that caters to specific dietary needs.
  • A background in nursing or related fields is advantageous but not essential.
