About our practice
Llanilar Health Centre is a small, friendly rural dispensing surgery that prides itself on delivering caring, responsive, and timely healthcare to our community.
Our dedicated team includes two GPs, one Nurse, a Health Care Assistant/Care Co-ordinator, and six Reception and Dispensary staff who work closely together to provide high-quality, patient-centred care.

About the role
We are a small, friendly practice with a close-knit team, and we're looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Dispenser/Receptionistto join us.
The ideal candidate will be a team player who can also work confidently and efficiently on their own. You should have a flexible approach and be willing to provide cover for sickness and annual leave when required, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities
Dispensing duties:
- Dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently, in accordance with current policies and procedures.
- Ordering and maintaining appropriate stock levels and conducting regular stock rotation.
- Handling controlled drugs and maintaining accurate records.
- Providing patients with advice and answering medication-related queries.
- Assisting the pharmacy team in daily operations and service delivery.
Reception duties:
- Managing the practice's appointments system, both over the phone and in person. (Training can be given)
- Greeting patients and visitors in a polite, helpful, and professional manner.
- Answering telephone calls and directing queries to the appropriate team member.
- Processing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail.
- Ensuring the reception and waiting areas are tidy and welcoming.
The ideal candidate
- Experience: Previous experience as a Dispenser/Receptionist is highly desirable, with NHS GP practice experience a bonus.
- Flexibility: Must be willing to work on an ad hoc basis to cover holidays, sickness, and other staff absences.
- Skills: Excellent communication, organisational, and computer literacy skills are essential.
- Disposition: A calm, empathetic, and professional demeanour is required, especially in a busy and fast-paced environment.
- Confidentiality: Must have a thorough understanding of and commitment to patient confidentiality.
