Technical Manager

Permanent | Full-Time | Food Manufacturing | Co. Tyrone Area

A well-established, accredited food manufacturer in the Co. Tyrone region is seeking a
Technical Manager
to join their leadership team. The business produces premium products for major UK and Irish retailers and foodservice customers. Quality, food safety, and delivering a product consumers can trust sit at the heart of everything they do.

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of the site's technical function, working closely with Operations and reporting directly to the Managing Director.

The Role

As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for leading all site technical, quality and food safety activities, including:

  • Managing and continually improving the site
    Quality Management System
    to meet BRCGS Food Standard (Version 9) and customer COP requirements.
  • Updating and maintaining all QMS procedures and documentation.
  • Leading the site through
    all third-party and customer audits
    , ensuring corrective actions are completed effectively.
  • Ownership of the
    HACCP plan
    , ensuring compliance and regular review.
  • Maintaining and developing the
    Supplier Approval
    and raw material risk assessment process for ingredients, packaging and service providers.
  • Managing the
    Internal Audit Schedule
    and driving timely closure of non-conformances.
  • Handling
    customer complaints
    , ensuring thorough investigation and timely resolution.
  • Maintaining full document control across the technical function.
  • Completing monthly
    KPI reports
    for senior management.
  • Overseeing
    New Product Development
    activity on site.
  • Delivering food safety, hygiene and induction training for new and existing staff.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum
    2 years' experience
    in a similar technical/QA leadership role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong working knowledge of
    BRCGS
    .
  • Good understanding of regulatory and legislative standards.
  • Degree-level qualification
    in Food Safety, Food Science or related discipline.
  • HACCP Level 3
    qualification.
