East London E, United Kingdom Woodford Children's Home Ltd. Full time

Important: We do not offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.

Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)?

We are seeking dedicated, compassionate and resilient individuals to join our team as Children's Residential Support Workers.

At Woodford, we know the current system doesn't always work for children or staff — that's why we are committed to doing things differently. We prioritise support, training, and systemic supervision for our team members, ensuring you feel as valued and cared for as the children we support.

What we offer:

  • A warm, supportive team environment where your voice matters
  • Ongoing training and qualifications in therapeutic childcare
  • Systemic supervision and reflective practice for your professional growth
  • Opportunities to progress in a growing organisation
  • The chance to truly change the lives of vulnerable children

What we're looking for:

  • People who are passionate about making a difference
  • Resilience and the ability to work in challenging situations
  • A commitment to supporting children and young people to achieve their potential
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins

This is an amazing opportunity to be part of a dedicated team creating a nurturing, therapeutic environment where children can feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.

Benefits:

  • Employee Ownership Bonus Scheme – tax-free bonuses paid in June & December.
  • Mintago Financial Wellbeing Platform – access to tools and resources to help you manage pensions, savings, and financial goals plus retail discounts.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – confidential 24/7 support for mental health, wellbeing, and advice.
  • Ongoing training, reflective practice, and clinical case reviews.
  • A strong focus on staff well-being and professional growth.
  • Staff Referral Scheme – earn a bonus when you successfully refer new team members.
  • Full Training Package provided - Level 4 Therapeutic Childcare

Requirements:

  • UK based.
  • Over 21 years old.
  • Experience in a similar setting is desirable but not essential as we provide a full training package for people with the right ethos and attributes.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent is desirable.

The Shift Pattern:

The shift hours are 7.40am to 8.00pm and the rota follows a two-week pattern:

Week 1 (long week) - 4 Days

Week 2 (short week) - 3 Days

This pattern means you will have every other weekend off and work 7 days every 2 weeks while still averaging 42 hours a week, giving you lots of time off to ensure a good work-life balance and time to rest between shifts and reducing the amount of travel time and costs to work.

In your short week there is also the opportunity to pick up some overtime if you require.

After submitting your CV you will be sent an application form to be completed prior to interview.

Enhanced DBS Certificate required or can also be applied for upon a Job Offer.
