We are looking for a Qualified Practitioner to work at our well-established fun and friendly Wee Gems Broxburn.

The ideal candidate should be qualified with a minimum SVQ3/ HNC in childcare and education.

Job Description:

Successful applicant will be required to work with children aged 0-5 in our nursery, ensuring safety and wellbeing of children within the setting. A successful applicant will also be confident in supporting children during mealtimes and support their learning. Additionally:

  • Be a reliable member of the team, working co-operatively and with flexibility
  • Understand that each child is an individual and have a general understanding of childcare and child development
  • Be familiar with all emergency and security procedures e.g. Fire procedures, routines for dropping off and collecting children
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Supervise children at all times whilst providing social experiences.
  • High levels of infection control ensuring the nursery is kept clean and tidy.
  • Ensure children are washing their hands effectively and have good personal hygiene.
  • Knowing all children's allergies and dietary requirements.
  • Assisting the team when required with other tasks delegated by management or team leader.
  • Ensure they have basic first aid knowledge and can be trained when necessary
  • If willing to participate, please attend trainings and staff meetings
  • To complete food hygiene certificate and other mandatory health and safety trainings.
