INTERIM FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT - 12mth FTC

  • Experience: Financial Statutory Reporting + Financial Services
  • Contract: initial 12mths
  • £60,000-70,000 + package

Pear Talent is representing a financial services group, who have an excellent opportunity for an Interim Financial Accountant (12mths FTC), providing extra support to the team as they implement a new Finance system. You'll play a key role in delivering their external statutory reporting and internal management information, ensuring the business achieves its goals and meets statutory requirements.

You'll be expected to partner across the business with other teams and senior stakeholders, taking a key role within a team that produce, analyse and deliver the external financial reporting.

Key accountabilities:

  • Deliver the external statutory financial reporting and internal management reporting, including any required analysis and commentary.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow analysis and commentaries for the Group finance pack.
  • Provide audit support and documentation for both internal and external audits, respond to auditor queries, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Finance Operations - balance sheet, bank/inter-company reconciliations, process and pay invoices, support treasury activities etc.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and reporting through automation and system enhancements.
  • Maintain a business partnering relationship between group financial reporting and key contacts in the business units to ensure a wider understanding of the underlying business at a group office level.
  • Contribute to Finance change projects and other ad-hoc initiatives.

Required experience:

  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA etc.)
  • Experience of statutory financial statements (UKGAAP/IFRS) in Financial Services
  • Strong team player and ability to multitask.
  • Able to maintain motivation and deliver quality to tight deadlines without supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Professional, self-motivated, pro-active individual, capable of assimilating information quickly in order to be effective in a short period of time.
  • Ability to operate at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to implement improvements in an environment of change.
