Job Description
Cornwall is moving towards the government's programme of Family Help reforms. In order to deliver these, we are creating some exciting opportunities for front line Contact Workers/Family Help Workers to support services at our integrated front door.
The Multi-Agency Referral Unit and Early Help Hub are Cornwall's single point of contact for all children's safeguarding and early help services. Both teams are co-located and work closely together under the leadership of the Service Manager to provide a seamless and proportionate response into the right service for children and families in Cornwall. The service is based in Truro and consists of a range of multi-disciplinary and co - located professionals from a range of health, education, social care, police and housing services. Cornwall's Family Information Service is located in the Service.
We are undergoing an exciting period of transformation and are looking for additional contact workers to support us in this process. You will be part of an enthusiastic and friendly team who are passionate about helping children and families when they first come into contact with children's social care. The roles require excellent skills in communication and building effective relationships with key partners. You will be flexible and be able to at times work under pressure and with competing timescales. You will receive good support and supervision. This will be an exciting time to join the service as we further strengthen our partnership approach to working and ensuring that children and families receive a timely, effective and seamless response when they ask for help. You will join a stable and established service with a committed group of practitioners and have the opportunity to continue with the current progress we have made to deliver our Family help Reforms.
We will work with you to develop your skills in this particular area of work, that is varied and interesting. We are interested to hear from people who have experience in working in health, education or social care settings and have a good understanding of the challenges facing families in Cornwall. We want to hear from people who want to make a difference to children's experiences and help them access early and meaningful support that will make a difference to their lives.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
This position will be subject to a enhanced criminal record disclosure check
