Overview
Seeking an energetic and proactive health & safety assessor/coordinator to conduct SSIP and other assessments, support applicants, and monitor the assessment decisions of the wider assessment team.

The Role
This is a diverse role encompassing:
Assessments
Conducting desktop SSIP and other assessments
Providing feedback to applicants via the portal and telephone
Sampling the assessment of other team members to ensure quality standards are fulfilled
Technical Support
Handling telephone and email enquiries requiring a technical response
Proactive engagement with contractors struggling or slow to re-submit additional information requests
Maintaining template guidance notes to assist the new applicant journey
Liaison with assessors, providing feedback and addressing queries arising
Coordinating the CPD programme for all the team
Operational Support
Assist with routine activities in relation to the business management system and maintenance of various company approvals (e.g. SSIP, UKAS ISO17020, ISO9001, etc)
Maintain the business register of legislation
Stakeholders
Contribute ideas and information to the business development team
Participate in events and exhibitions arising
Participate in local networking events (e.g. IOSH branch meetings)
Capturing feedback from applicants
Supporting the onboarding of new Clients
Following up historical, incomplete, and expired clients by telephone and email
The Person
A minimum of 2 years general health & safety work experience, ideally in construction
Knowledge and/or experience of CDM regulations
Qualified to a minimum NEBOSH General Certificate, ideally construction certificate
Committed to continual professional development through membership of IOSH and achieving/maintaining requisite training (e.g. SSIP Assessor)
Demonstrates independence, impartiality, and confidentiality
Skilled assessing techniques –perceptive, versatile, tenacious, decisive
Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation) to provide feedback to applicants both in writing and verbally via telephone.
Adaptable to changing workloads and willingness to support other business activities required for a growing business
Confident working to defined KPIs and targets
Focussed on business outcomes, you will be self driven and have the ability to work autonomously.
Energy, proactivity, and positivity are important for this predominantly home based role
Willingness to travel to meet the PQS team at regular intervals
It would be beneficial if the applicant already has an understanding and/or practical experience of contractor assessments, SSIP, and auditing.
Qualifications, experience, and/or an interest in Quality and Environmental topics would also be advantageous.

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
