Principal Product Manager - Governance, Compliance & Insight (GCI)

Role Overview:

At Mimecast, we are trusted by over 40,000 organizations worldwide to safeguard business data, ensure compliance, and mitigate risk in an ever-evolving digital landscape. We seek an experienced, strategic, and technically savvy Principal Product Manager to lead Regulatory Compliance and Data Governance efforts across our platform. You will drive policies, tools, and product roadmaps that ensure privacy, compliance, and trust—empowering stakeholders across product, legal, engineering, and data teams.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing robust, AI-powered data archiving, management, and investigation capabilities that support regulatory and corporate standards. You will proactively address non-compliance across collaboration tools, helping our customers detect policy violations and meet regulations such as FINRA, HIPAA and GDPR.

If you thrive in fast-moving environments and are comfortable working with ambiguity, this role may be for you. You must have experience working closely with Legal and Policy teams as well as platform PM and Engineering teams in a horizontal capacity, ensuring Mimecast continues to deliver trusted, compliant, and innovative solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own Product Strategy & Vision: Define and evolve the product roadmap for the Governance, Risk & Insight portfolio, aligning with Mimecast's broader business objectives and aggressive growth targets.
  • Revenue & Growth Focused: Drive revenue growth through pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies. Monitor product performance and identify opportunities to expand our market share.
  • Market, Trend & Customer Insight: Gather and interpret market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to inform product decisions. Be the internal voice of the customer and the external face of Mimecast in key engagements.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success teams to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Customer Engagement: Regularly engage with customers, prospects, and industry analysts. Present product vision, gather requirements, and validate solutions in front of diverse audiences.
  • Dealing with Ambiguity: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating comfort with ambiguity and change. Make data-informed decisions even in the absence of complete information.
  • Go-To-Market & Enablement: Collaborate with go-to-market teams to ensure successful product launches and effective enablement materials for sales and support.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in SaaS data archiving, governance or compliance domains.
  • Proven track record of managing revenue-generating products and delivering against aggressive growth targets.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills—comfortable leading discussions with C-level executives, enterprise customers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills—able to synthesize market signals, user data, and competitive intelligence into actionable insights.
  • Experience navigating ambiguity in a rapidly evolving business domain.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a bias for action and a passion for delivering value.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree a plus.
