People Partner - Fleet OperationsThe role
The Fleet Operations People Partner role is an embedded People role that works closely with our Global Fleet Operations Leadership teams, with a key focus on our UK and Germany teams. Our Fleet Operations Department covers 4 regions ensuring effective and safe vehicle testing of our cutting edge models and autonomous vehicles. This department is at the forefront of what we do and is critical to the success of Wayve overall. In this role you will be ensuring that the people strategy aligns and supports the operational strategy of the Fleet Operations Department, working across the full Employee Lifecycle, with a strong focus on Employee Relations, Policy and Process, and Performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Own all employee relations matters for Fleet Operations UK and Germany.
- Work closely with our US and Japan People Partner to ensure that all people related matters from other Geos are accounted for and aligned at a global Fleet Operations Level.
- Support leaders and managers within Fleet Operations to ensure teams are highly engaged, high performing, and resourced correctly.
- Work closely with talent on talent strategy, reward decisions, market insight and salary bandings.
- Work closely with fleet operations managers to ensure key people processes are executed in a timely and effective manner such as pre-employment checks, probationary processes, performance management cycles, engagement cycles and more.
- Ensure DEI is accounted for in People Practices and decisions taken within Fleet Operations.
- Help and guide managers through different scenarios, coaching our leaders to be the best they can be.
- Lead or co-lead strategic People projects that improve the effectiveness and scalability of Fleet Operations — e.g.
- Designing leadership guidance and resources
- Driving engagement survey action planning across geographies
- Building new policy/process infrastructure (e.g. attendance, flexible work, compensation principles)
- Partnering on organisational design, role scoping, and capability planning.
- Act as a thought partner to senior leaders, translating business needs into actionable People initiatives.
In order to set you up for success as a People Partner at Wayve, we're looking for the following skills and experience.
Essential
- Demonstrable experience as a People Partner looking after an employee base of at least ~ people.
- Extensive understanding of UK employment law, and extensive Employee Relations Experience.
- The ability to think commercially whilst ensuring our people are always being taken into account.
- Resilient and dependable; a track record of high levels of autonomy and ownership seeing things through to the finish line.
- Subject matter expert. You need to be confident and skilled in critical parts of the people lifecycle; performance management, engagement, policy and employee relations.
- Influence and guide. You need to be a great stakeholder manager, understanding how to flex your style to meet the needs of your internal stakeholders, whilst maintaining a level of influence and guidance on their decision making.
- Problem solving. You will need an ability to dig into the core of a problem, understand the root cause with ambiguous data and to be able to come up with appropriately sized solutions that you then deliver.
Desirable
- People Partnering in a high growth, fast pace organisation, ideally covering multi geo operational stakeholders.
- Data driven, with the ability to understand and use data to drive decisions.
- Org Design experience
- Org Development / Talent Development Experience
- Germany Employment law experience / knowledge
This is a full-time role based in our office in London.
