Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Yard Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our yard by assisting with various tasks related to HGV vehicle cleaning, loading and unloading, yard cleaning, warehouse deep cleaning, drain and gully cleaning. This position requires a strong work ethic and the ability to operate machinery safely. Working Monday to Friday, and every Saturday morning.

Duties

  • Clean all company vehicles, warehouse and yard.
  • Ensure drains and gullies are clear and running freely.
  • Load and unload materials from lorries and warehouse efficiently and safely.
  • Assist in the organisation of the yard.
  • Operate forklifts and other machinery as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Perform regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations while working in the yard environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in materials handling or warehouse operations is preferred.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks consistently throughout the shift.
  • Valid forklift certification is desirable but not essential; training may be provided for suitable candidates.
  • Ability to work as a team member and unsupervised.
  • Fork-lift licence preferred.
