thedesignconcept Ltd is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to join our award-winning team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in FF&E and shopfitting estimation to play a key role in delivering exceptional design projects across the UK and Ireland.

The Role

As Estimating Manager, you'll lead the pricing, cost management, and tendering processes that underpin our projects — ensuring every proposal is accurate, competitive, and commercially sound.

You'll:

  • Prepare accurate estimates using our Business Central ERP system.
  • Work closely with our UK senior management team and Group CEO (Denmark) to develop commercially strategic offers.
  • Manage end-to-end financial control of the estimating process, monitoring margins and cost accuracy.
  • Analyse tender returns and propose value engineering (VE) solutions.
  • Negotiate favourable supplier terms and maintain strong supply-chain relationships.
  • Lead online enquiry responses from architects and contractors.
  • Research FF&E market trends and drive continuous margin improvement.
  • Prepare accurate documentation for seamless project handovers.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Proven experience within the furniture fit-out sector (essential).
  • Experience in bespoke shopfitting estimating (desirable).
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and numerical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Business Central (or similar ERP/estimating systems) and MS Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate effectively within a fast-paced team.
