About the Role:
YMCA Reading are looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our dedicated team.
In this role, you'll provide practical, emotional, and person-centred support to help our young people (including young parents), aged , gain the confidence and skills they need to move into independent living.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Supporting residents, including 4 young parents, as part of our 40-unit service
- Delivering tailored, person-centred support that encourages independence and builds self-esteem
- Creating structured support plans using tools such as Outcome Stars and Risk Assessments
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to help residents achieve their goals
- Keeping clear and accurate records using basic IT/admin skills
What we're looking for:
We'd love to hear from you if you are:
- Empathetic and resilient, with a genuine interest in supporting young people
- Experienced in working with vulnerable young people and/or young parents
- Skilled in communication and teamwork
- Comfortable with basic admin and using a PC (training will be given on our systems)
- Experienced in Safeguarding
Role details:
This is a part time position - 20 hours per week
- Shift pattern: Between 8am - 9:30pm, on a rota, including weekend shifts
- Part-time position with opportunities for learning, development, and career progression
