Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality support to individuals in care homes, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a genuine interest in caring for others. Duties

  • Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
  • Support the development and implementation of individualised care plans
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of individuals under your care at all times
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
  • Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and their families regarding care needs
  • Support with medication administration as per training and regulations
  • Assist with light domestic tasks to maintain a clean and welcoming environment
  • Travel between different care settings as required, utilising your driving skills where applicable

Experience

  • Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
  • Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow them accurately
  • Good IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Valid driving licence is advantageous for travel between locations
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and empathy towards residents or clients
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures relevant to healthcare settings
