High Level Role Overview

We're looking for an engineer who wants to build, improve, and extend the Pinwheel platform across the stack. You'll be a developer first and foremost — planning, writing, testing, documenting, and deploying code.

This is a small team, you will play a significant role working with the rest of the non-technical team to gather requirements, understand problems and develop solutions. Versatility and strong communication are key, working closely alongside each other while coordinating with business goals is how we drive success. You will have significant input on product decisions, technical designs and direction. You'll collaborate closely with the team to make it happen.

Responsibilities

Development

This is a software engineering role at its core. You will have responsibility for:

·      Designing and implementing full-stack features, from conception to deployment

·      Building scalable, maintainable code across our entire technology stack

·      Testing and validating functionality to meet requirements and handle edge cases

·      Following and evolving our design patterns and ways of working

·      Documenting and communicating how the platform works and how to use it

Data and Security

Platform integrity is critical to Pinwheel's success. The role will have responsibility for:


•      Ensuring Pinwheel meets the relevant security standards


•      Maintaining high platform uptime


•      Making data accessible to the wider team


•      Making data accessible to customers

Versatility

Pinwheel is a small team; we need engineers who are happy and willing to:

·      Wear many hats and upskill quickly and confidently on areas they may not be familiar with

·      Ensure solutions align with business goals and delivery deadlines

·      Contribute and communicate with other areas of the business

·      Adapt to existing practices and implementations and improve these iteratively

Collaboration

Collaboration is key to what we do:

·      Travel and meet the rest of the team face to face regularly

·      Provide and receive constructive feedback and build upon it
