We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Nursery Nurses to join our friendly and nurturing team in Nurseries in Houghton. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified childcare professional to support young children's development in a warm and stimulating environment whilst developing your career in a supportive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years
  • Planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in your care
  • Observing and assessing children's progress, maintaining accurate records
  • Supporting children's social and emotional development
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and parents to create a positive learning environment
  • Adhering to safeguarding policies and maintaining a safe, clean, and stimulating setting

About You:

  • Must hold a recognised childcare qualification (Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years Education or equivalent)
  • A genuine passion for working with young children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection

Due to the nature of this role working with children, this position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All applicants will be required to declare any convictions, cautions, or pending prosecutions and undergo enhanced DBS screening and reference checks.

In accordance with the safeguarding vulnerable groups' regime [2006] & the relevant Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) DfE guidance, any offer of employment made will be conditional upon the results of checks from the Disclosure & Barring Service ("the DBS") and Teacher Services (regarding teacher prohibition/disqualification from working with children and young people). School roles give privileged access to vulnerable groups, therefore, we require all applicants attending interview to disclose all spent convictions and cautions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions) Order 1975 unless it is a "protected" conviction/caution under the amendments made to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions) Order 1975 (in 2013) and, therefore, not subject to disclosure.
