We are seeking experienced freelance Animation Production Managers with a proven track record in commercials and animation. This vital role requires strong leadership, exceptional problem-solving skills, and clear communication to manage production processes, schedules, and teams efficiently from concept to delivery.

Please note that we are only considering people who are based in London, or are able to work from our London studio at least 3 days per week.

What you'll be doing

  • Production Management: Oversee the entire animation production pipeline, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest quality.
  • Scheduling & Budgeting: Develop and maintain production schedules, budgets, and resource plans, aligning them with client expectations and project needs.
  • Team Coordination: Serve as the point of contact between producers, directors/creative leads, and teams, ensuring alignment on creative objectives and production plans.
  • Database & Workflow Management: Set up and manage production tracking systems, ensuring database standards are met and tasks are updated regularly.
  • Client Communication: Attend client meetings, take detailed notes, and address feedback promptly, ensuring all potential impacts on timelines and resources are considered.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage crew workloads, software, and other resources, onboarding and offboarding team members as required.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve production-related challenges swiftly, maintaining composure and clarity under pressure.
  • Collaboration: Foster a positive, collaborative environment that encourages communication, creativity, and efficiency.
  • Administrative Support: Regularly update budgets, manage invoicing, and ensure smooth operational workflows.

What you'll bring

  • Industry Expertise: Proven experience managing animation production for commercials and/or CG projects, with a deep understanding of animation workflows and processes.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong team management abilities, with experience coordinating teams across multiple departments.
  • Problem Solving & Decision-Making: A proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges, coupled with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with industry-standard software such as MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Workspace. Experience with tools like ShotGrid (formerly Shotgun) and other animation production software is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating ideas and plans clearly to clients and teams.
  • Organisational Excellence: Strong administrative and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
