An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well organised Typesetter to join our digital printing pre-production team.
The right candidate will be experienced with graphic design software, be organised, confident, have excellent attention to detail and always be willing to go the extra mile
Must be able to cope under pressure, handle high volumes of work and be able to work under their own initiative. A flexible approach, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines are also required.
Duties will include:
- To prepare digital artwork files required to operate the digital printers and laser cutters and engravers
- Ensure that artwork files are prepared in accordance with the customer instructions, sales order and job cards
- Ensure that the preparation of the artwork files meets the requirements of the production schedule priorities
- To operate various IT software including Corel, Illustrator, Rasterlink, Muesli, Spindle, BES, Muesli, Microsoft Office and other machine specific software/operating packages
- When required, to operate the Mimaki Digital Printers to print name badges
Given the nature of our business, you will need to have a good command of the English language. Further progression will be available after a period of 12 months by gaining experience in the digital printing department.
The right person for this role:
- Possess a good creative appreciation to go with their strong layout skills
- Be skilled in producing customer proofs and print ready artwork across a range of disciplines including screen print and digital work
- Have a passion for typography and have impeccable attention to detail
- Be experienced working efficiently within a fast-paced environment with proficient file-management and keeping servers up to date
- Be experienced using Illustrator and/or Corel Draw and Windows
- Have a good command of the English language and be able to communicate to other team members effectively
- Have a flexible approach
- Be able to work effectively within a fast-moving environment
- Have an ability to multi-task and think 'outside the box'
- Have a positive and professional attitude
- Have a strong ethic for work, along with critical attention to detail
- Be computer literate and be able to use Microsoft Excel to an intermediary level
- To be proficient in spelling and grammar
It would be highly advantageous, but not essential if the right person:
Is familiar with ISO9001 and 14001
Hours
1.45pm-9.45pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 12.45pm-7.45pm. Alternative shifts could be available and will be discussed at interview stage.
Job Types: Full-time
Salary: From £12.22 per hour. Review after 3 months.
