Caretaker/Maintenance

Mid-week, Weekend & Bank Holiday Caretaker

A Vacancy has arisen to join Horseshoe Lake Activity Centre as a caretaker. We are looking for either one or two people to job share, to cover the centre's operational hours including Weekend and Bank Holidays. We are looking for somebody that's friendly, reliable and enthusiastic to join us.

The hours vary to suit the business needs. Shift patterns may be split anywhere from 7:30am to 9:00pm depending on the hires & bookings. The Centre has flexibility in the shifts available to suit the right person.

You will be required to carry out a range of caretaking and cleaning duties within HLAC buildings and surrounding areas.

Caretaker duties and responsibilities

The duties of Caretakers vary, depending on the centre's needs. However, some of their common responsibilities include:

• Cleaning areas of the building, boat yard and surrounding areas
• Gardening and performing landscape duties or supervising others in these roles
• Inspecting the building, including heating, cooling, lighting and alarm systems to make sure they are in good working order
• Performing basic repairs and maintenance tasks as required
• Monitoring cleaning materials, tools, and furniture and reordering as required
• Opening building at the start of the day and locking all doors and windows when not in operation
• Adhering to the company's safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone

Experience in Maintenance, Cleaning, Gardening is essential

Applicants must hold a full driving licence and preferably have a vehicle they can use for work.Ideally you would be able to start immediately following receipt of suitable references.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Zero hours contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
