Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs and ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are executed efficiently. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methods and the ability to provide accurate financial advice throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate costing and financial management.
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, and procurement schedules.
  • Evaluate contractor bids and negotiate contract terms to secure favourable outcomes for the company.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
  • Provide regular reports on project costs and forecasts to stakeholders.
  • Assist in resolving any financial disputes that may arise during the course of a project.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC/HND required with A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field preferred
  • Proven experience in cost control within the construction industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications for quantity surveying and cost management.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in a professional body such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is advantageous but not mandatory.
