Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs and ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are executed efficiently. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methods and the ability to provide accurate financial advice throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate costing and financial management.
- Prepare tender documents, contracts, and procurement schedules.
- Evaluate contractor bids and negotiate contract terms to secure favourable outcomes for the company.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
- Provide regular reports on project costs and forecasts to stakeholders.
- Assist in resolving any financial disputes that may arise during the course of a project.
Qualifications
- Minimum HNC/HND required with A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field preferred
- Proven experience in cost control within the construction industry is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications for quantity surveying and cost management.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Membership or eligibility for membership in a professional body such as RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is advantageous but not mandatory.
