. From our London headquarters in Liverpool Street, we deliver trusted advice and technical expertise to a broad client base — including corporate occupiers, investment funds, and developers.
We are seeking a
Senior Building Surveyor
to join our Building Surveying and Professional Services team. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor, delivering high-quality consultancy services across the commercial property sector. You'll lead the technical delivery of projects, provide expert advice to clients, and mentor junior team members.
This position offers exposure to a diverse range of work — from technical due diligence and dilapidations to refurbishment, project management, and contract administration. You'll also have opportunities to support business development, collaborate with our Propitas colleagues, and contribute to the continued growth of CHPK Group.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead and deliver a variety of Building Surveying services, including:
- Dilapidations – representing both landlords and tenants, including advice, preparation, and negotiation.T
- Technical Due Diligence – conducting surveys and preparing reports for acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing.
- Design & Contract Administration – managing refurbishment and fit-out projects from inception to completion.
- Project Management and Employer's Agent duties across commercial projects.
- Defect Analysis, Schedules of Condition, and PPM reporting.
Reinstatement Cost Assessments and feasibility studies
- Ensure technical accuracy, quality, and consistency across all project deliverables.
- Manage client relationships, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed timescales, budgets, and expectations.
- Mentor Graduate and Building Surveyors, including providing APC support and technical review.
- Contribute to business development, networking, and client engagement to grow CHPK Group's Building Surveying offering.
- Actively share knowledge and best practices, promoting technical excellence across the company.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of current legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
- Prepare and present reports, specifications, and cost estimates with professionalism and commercial awareness.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams — including Cost Consultancy, Project Management, and Engineering — to deliver integrated client solutions.

- Commercially astute with a sound understanding of market trends and client priorities.

- Team-oriented, with a commitment to collaboration across CHPK and Propitas.
- Confident representing CHPK Group at client and industry events.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to travel to sites across London and occasionally nationwide.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- MRICS qualification (essential).
- Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience within a consultancy environment.
- Proven experience delivering commercial building surveying services including dilapidations, TDD, and contract administration.
- Experience acting as Project Manager or Employer's Agent.
- Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC contract suites.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Deltek PIM is advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
