Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Assistant to support the finance team with a range of accounting and reporting activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing month-end journals, maintaining financial records, assisting with invoicing, reconciliations, and providing analytical support to management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
  • Assist with month-end analysis and reporting
  • Conduct S&A analysis and review
  • Perform WIP (Work in Progress) reviews and reporting
  • Support the generation of invoices and credit notes
  • Complete fee reporting and reconciliations
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process cash transactions and maintain bank accounts
  • Support temporary billing and weekly reporting processes
  • Assist with tax pack preparation and analysis
  • Contribute to internal and external audit processes
  • Undertake ad hoc reporting and other finance-related duties as required

Person Specification

Skills and Competencies

  • AAT qualified (or equivalent) or experience in a similar accounting role - this role would suit an Accounting and Finance Graduate or somebody with 1-2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to high standards
  • Calm under pressure and adaptable to change
  • Highly numerate with strong attention to detail
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
