We're looking for a Risk and Contracts Specialist to join our Legal and Insurance team. This role is all about providing efficient, effective solutions that guide commercial property matters, helping us secure tangible assets to meet company objectives while ensuring compliance with regulations. You'll also provide legal assistance on supplier contractual matters, including drafting and reviewing terms and supporting internal stakeholders through negotiations to final sign-off.
Location: Any of our sites (preferably Northampton NN4 5FB)
Salary: £35,000 per annum

Main Responsibilities
Compliance
a. Co-ordinate lease renewals, extensions, licences for alterations and terminations, ensuring legal compliance.
b. Ensure operational properties comply with laws and lease terms.
c. Engage proactively with site inspections and audits.
d. Review leases and optimise business position where possible.
Health & Safety & Sustainability
a. Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive ESG objectives and reinforce HSE protocols.
b. Work closely with HSE partners to ensure properties meet environmental and safety legislation.
Teamwork
a. Advise colleagues on property-related matters and assist with events (implementations, changes of use, renewals, closures).
b. Manage subcontractor processes with Facilities team to ensure safe, efficient operations.
c. Share information with stakeholders to highlight property impacts.
Data Insights & Integrity
a. Provide data on market trends, property values, and lease rates, highlighting changes that may impact the business.
b. Maintain accurate property records in line with policy and guidelines.
c. Report on landlord/tenant matters and regulatory requirements.
Key Requirements
- Law degree or working towards
- Experience in property operations, lease negotiation, and portfolio management
- Background in supplier contracts and business contract law
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Organised and deadline-driven
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Up-to-date legal knowledge on commercial leasing
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
