Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis to join our culinary team on a Weekend. Saturday and Sunday daytime only. This role involves supporting the kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, assisting in food production, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
  • Support food production processes to ensure timely service delivery
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety standards
  • Supervise junior team members when required, providing guidance and support
  • Ensure all ingredients are properly stored and labelled in accordance with health regulations
  • Contribute to menu development by suggesting new ideas and techniques
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to management promptly
  • Uphold high standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness throughout the kitchen environment

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
  • Previous supervising or team management experience is desirable
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative attitude
  • Culinary experience or formal training in hospitality or culinary arts is preferred
  • Familiarity with food production processes and restaurant operations
  • A proactive approach to learning and professional development within the culinary field

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £195.36-£203.36 per week

Expected hours: 16 per week
