Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving and delivery, ensuring the safe and timely transport of goods. This role requires excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of vehicle mechanics to maintain the lorry in optimal condition.

Responsibilities

  • Operate lorries safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods to designated locations while maintaining accurate delivery records.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items, especially when using tipper lorries.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, clients, and management regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the vehicle at all times.

Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid HGV licence.
  • Strong delivery driver experience with a focus on punctuality and reliability.
  • Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience driving flatbed lorries is advantageous.
