WE ARE LOOKING FOR 2 CARE ASSISTANTS TO WORK APPROXIMATELY 20-24 HOURS PER WEEK.

JOB DESCRIPTION - CARE ASSISTANT

Credenhill Court Rest Home is a friendly home which attempts to encourage good relationships between staff and Residents alike. We believe that a relaxed, friendly working atmosphere is beneficial both to the comfort of the Residents and to staff morale.

At Credenhill Court we strive to ensure that our staff are satisfied in their work through personal appraisals and supervisions. We also aim to provide relevant training to assist your professional development.

You will be given thorough induction training to prepare you for your role and we aim to ensure you feel welcome and able to freely ask for help and support.

POSITION: CARE ASSISTANT

RESPONSIBLE TO: CARE MANAGER

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

  • To promote and practice person centered care at all times ensuring that the complete needs of our Residents are met in line with their written plan of care.
  • To develop and promote positive relationships with Residents families and friends, visiting professionals and the local community.
  • To comply with all company policies and procedures
  • To comply with all relevant legislation in particular the Health and Safety at
  • Work Act 1974 and the Health and Social Care Act 2008.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist Residents who require support with any aspect of personal care.
  • To help promote the independence and well being of our Residents through positive encouragement to achieve a feeling of self worth.
  • To support Residents to positively manage their mental and physical health.
  • To actively promote Residents rights and choices on a daily basis.
  • To ensure Residents are given their privacy and treated with dignity and respect at all times.
  • To ensure that Residents are enabled to actively follow any religious or cultural beliefs.
  • To respect Residents religion and support them on an individual basis to follow their beliefs.
  • To encourage Residents to enjoy a healthy lifestyle and encourage them to be socially active.
  • To act as a Key worker to at least one Resident on completion of induction.
  • To encourage Residents next of kin / representatives to remain involved as long as it is the Residents wish.
  • To have knowledge of Credenhill Court Rest Homes policies and procedures and to comply with all relevant legislation.
  • To be actively involved in the recording of information and an awareness of the requirements of storing information.
  • To comply with the Homes policy in relation to Medication Administration.
  • To attend all mandatory and relevant training provided by the Home as directed by the Homes Manager.
  • To carry out some basic domestic duties in line with the Homes requirements.
  • To support the laundry assistant with laundering Residents clothing.
  • To adhere to the Homes policy on Confidentiality.
  • To support Residents who may require end of life care, in line with specific guidelines identified in care plans.
  • To have an awareness of the Risk Assessment process within the Home.
  • To establish positive and professional working relationships with colleagues.
  • To have knowledge and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and ensure that all reporting procedures are adhered to.
  • Adopt good infection control practices and adhere to the Homes procedures.

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To arrive for duty punctually and adhere to the Homes clocking in procedures.
  • To observe good personal hygiene and personal appearance in order to positively promote the Home.
  • To be aware of your personal conduct on or off duty thus reflecting the high standards of the Home.
  • To understand and abide by the General Social Care Council's Code of
  • Conduct.

All staff are required to respect the confidentiality of all information that they might learn in the course of their employment. All staff must ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work, etc Act

1974.

TRAINING

You will be required to carry out the following mandatory training within an agreed timescale:

  • Health & Safety
  • Moving & Handling
  • Fire Training
  • First Aid
  • Infection Control
  • Food Hygiene Awareness
  • Medication Administration & Management
  • Adult Safeguarding
  • Diploma Level II in Health & Social Care

We provide many other training courses which you will be required to attend and are relevant to your role.
