Job Overview

As a Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including supported living, nursing homes, and residential services. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for those you support by assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being.

Duties

  • Provide personal care to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support clients with meal preparation and dietary needs, ensuring nutritional requirements are met.
  • Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours.
  • Facilitate social interaction and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
  • Conduct light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients and their families.
  • Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate professionals.

Skills

  • Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or similar environments is desirable.
  • Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide patient care compassionately.
  • Proficiency in first aid procedures is beneficial for ensuring client safety.
  • A valid driving licence may be required for transporting clients as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
