Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Window Fitter to join our construction team. The successful candidates will be responsible for removing, and replacing windows across various residential properties. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on-site. Prior experience will be advantageous. The position offers an opportunity to develop technical skills within a professional environment committed to quality workmanship.

Duties

  • Measure and prepare window openings to ensure precise fitting and alignment
  • Install new windows, ensuring secure fixing and sealing to prevent drafts and leaks
  • Remove old or damaged windows carefully, minimising damage to surrounding structures
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to complete installations
  • Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with team members and contractors to ensure timely project completion
  • Conduct quality checks on installed windows for durability and compliance with specifications

Experience

  • Proven experience in window fitting
  • Familiarity with the safe use of hand tools, power tools.
  • Knowledge technical drawings relevant to window installation projects
  • Experience working within construction environment
  • Ability to interpret technical plans and adapt techniques accordingly
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and precision in craftsmanship

Candidates should possess a good understanding of health and safety procedures within construction environments. A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and working collaboratively is essential for success in this role as well as a respectful attitude to tenants

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 20-30 weeks

Pay: £40,000.00-£65,750.87 per year
