Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-focused
Finance Administrator
to join our small in-house team in Woodston on a part time basis of 18 hours a week (flexible to suit). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy, hands-on environment and is keen to build their experience in finance and administration.
You will work closely with the Finance Manager and the operations team, supporting a wide range of finance tasks and helping to keep our processes running smoothly. If you have a proactive attitude, strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and well-organised team.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the finance mailbox and responding to queries
- Supplier statement reconciliation
- Allocating remittances and receipts
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Chasing overdue customer payments in a professional manner
- Assisting suppliers with queries
- Preparing and supporting supplier payment runs
- Supporting payroll tasks, with future scope to take ownership
- Providing ad-hoc administrative support to managers as required
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- 1–2 years' experience in a finance or accounts assistant role
- Strong understanding of basic accounting practices, including reconciliations and payables/receivables
- Experience with bank reconciliations and financial inbox management
- Previous experience processing supplier invoices, remittances and dealing with supplier/customer queries
- Experience in credit control
- Confident user of accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
