The Role

We're looking for an organised and detail-oriented
Purchase Ledger Clerk
to join our client's finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate processing of supplier invoices, timely payments, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. You'll play an important part in keeping their financial records up to date and supporting smooth day-to-day finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Match, batch, and code invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies or queries.
  • Prepare and process weekly and monthly supplier payment runs.
  • Maintain the purchase ledger and ensure all transactions are posted correctly.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve invoice or payment issues.
  • Support month-end processes, including accruals and reporting.
  • Assist with ad hoc finance projects and provide cover for other finance team members when required.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a
    purchase ledger
    or
    accounts payable
    role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Confident using accounting software and Excel.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
