About the Role

As a Youth Justice Service Practitioner , you'll play a vital role in preventing youth offending, safeguarding children, and supporting positive outcomes for young people and their families.

You'll manage a varied caseload, delivering effective interventions and restorative justice approaches, while working closely with victims, families, and multi-agency partners. This is an opportunity to make a real difference by helping young people turn their lives around and contribute positively to their communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold a caseload and deliver interventions that support desistance and strengthen families.
  • Work with victims and implement restorative justice and reparation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and Youth Justice Board standards.
  • Represent the YJS and Local Authority in court, panels, and professional meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service development.
  • Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.

What You'll Bring

  • A degree-level or professional qualification in Social Work, Education, Health, Youth Work, Probation, Police, or a related discipline.
  • Experience of safeguarding, assessments, SMART planning, and interventions.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to engage young people, families, and professionals.
  • Knowledge of Youth Justice legislation and restorative approaches.
  • Resilience, cultural sensitivity, and a collaborative approach to working with diverse communities.
