Job Title: Planning & Control Manager - Submarines

Working location: Raynesway, Derby  

We are currently recruiting for a Planning & Control Manager - Submarines to join Rolls-Royce Submarines team based in Derby.

To be responsible for the Management, Control and Transformation of Planning & Control (P&C) Processes, Behaviours, and Capabilities. To lead both functional and cross-functional Process Improvements to drive improved business operations.

To have overall accountability for functional and professional development of our P&C supply chain operation population in RRSL.

To be the Line Manager to all P&C Super Users, ensuring the team is engaged and motivated and that Functional Plans and Strategies are developed and delivered in a timely manner and to a high standard

Your needs are as unique as you are. What you will be doing: 

  • To own the resource for P&C super-users ensuring alignment to generic roles and development of competency in role to the required level.
  • Be the functional owner for all P&C roles within Supply Chain Planning & Execution, ensuring a high standard of training and competencies across P&C personnel.
  • To own the sub-function processes for Planning & Execution and the flow-down into the operational businesses.
  • To be a P&C ambassador, coaching cross-functional teams on the importance of P&C processes and the adherence to them.
  • Be accountable for new P&C relevant system improvements/implementations.
  • To ensure standard processes are used to drive value stream (customer to supplier) on time delivery and act as an escalation route for operational issues, prioritising functional resources where required.
  • Accountable for ensuring ERP compliance is actively managed within the business areas, through appropriate governance and metrics.
  • Drive appropriate CoP's and process councils, ensuring sharing of best practice and continuous improvement of standard processes. Help identify, document and deliver areas for supply chain improvement.

  • Proven leadership qualities.
  • Experience of managing, building and developing a team.
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering operations/improvements, including dealing with change.
  • Broad understanding of different roles / functions / processes (e.g. Manufacturing, Purchase, NPI, ME etc).
  • Sound knowledge of production planning and control processes & principles.
  • Knowledge of and working experience with MRP systems.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance.  Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. 

Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
