Role: KS1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Start date: January 2026
Contract: January 2026 – July 2026 (part-time - Wednesday, Thursday & Friday)
Salary: £90-£100 per day (depending on experience, role and/or qualifications).
About the role
Heart of Supply is seeking a caring and proactive KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school from January to July 2026, working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday each week.
In this part-time role, you will support across Year 1 and Year 2 classes under the direction of the class teacher, helping pupils to engage in learning activities and providing targeted assistance through small group or one-to-one work. You'll play an important role in supporting early literacy and numeracy skills, building confidence, and helping pupils develop positive learning habits.
You will also contribute to maintaining a calm, happy and inclusive classroom environment, supporting positive behaviour and promoting pupils' emotional wellbeing throughout the school day. Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary setting is essential. Confidence supporting younger learners, alongside a warm, patient approach and the ability to build nurturing relationships with pupils and staff, will be key. Experience with behaviour management or early intervention strategies would also be an advantage.
About the school
This is a warm, caring and nurturing primary school with a strong sense of community and a genuine commitment to valuing every child as an individual. Staff know their pupils well and create a supportive environment where children feel safe, listened to and encouraged to do their best.
The school has a calm, friendly atmosphere and promotes positive behaviour, kindness and respect throughout the day. Pupils enjoy coming to school, engage well with their learning and benefit from strong relationships with the adults around them. It's a wonderful place to support pupils in their early years of education and to be part of a team that truly puts children at the heart of everything they do.
What you will need:
- Previous experience supporting children in a primary classroom or similar learning environment
- A calm, compassionate approach and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young learners
- Confidence supporting learning and development under the direction of the class teacher
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage engagement and good choices
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of different pupils and routines across the school day
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
- A relevant qualification (such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential for experienced candidates
What we offer you:
- Competitive weekly PAYE pay
- Roles tailored to your lifestyle - day-to-day or longer term
- Access to exclusive opportunities in great local schools
- A friendly, experienced consultant who listens
- Free CPD and ongoing professional development
- A simple 'Refer a Friend' scheme
- A warm, supportive agency that genuinely cares about you and your journey
We're fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All applicants will undergo thorough vetting, including enhanced DBS (with children's barred list check and Update Service registration), references, and online checks as part of our compliance process.
