We're looking for an organised and proactive
Security Resource Planner
to join our Security Resource Function on a
6 month temporary contract.
This role focuses on mid-term resource planning (weeks 2–6), ensuring our Security Operations team has the right people in place to meet operational demand and service excellence. You'll act as the main contact for operational staff on rostering and resource matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective mid-term (2–6 week) resource plans aligned with operational forecasts.
  • Liaise with the Capacity Team to ensure accurate workforce planning.
  • Manage annual leave, sickness, contractual hours, and overtime to meet business needs.
  • Coordinate with the Training Team to roster all mandatory and ad-hoc training.
  • Identify and address resourcing gaps through effective reallocation and optimisation.
  • Provide regular reports and insights on staffing levels, trends, and variances.
  • Support ongoing system maintenance for rostering and attendance tools.
  • Represent the Resource Function in weekly planning and operational meetings.

Tasks and Deliverables

  • Review and implement all adjustments within the 2–3-week planning cycle.
  • Monitor staffing levels and address shortages caused by sickness or training.
  • Schedule and roster all training and rectification sessions within planning cycles.
  • Manage annual leave allocations in line with policy and operational requirements.
  • Provide clear communications and joining instructions for all rostered staff.
  • Ensure rosters align with training plans and operational objectives.
  • Maintain accurate planning records and documentation.
  • Support short-term planning cover when required.

About You

  • Proven experience in workforce or resource planning, ideally in a security or operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of rostering principles and planning tools.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with operational teams and managers.
  • Skilled at balancing staffing needs with business and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and relevant legal standards.
  • Committed to professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Able to obtain and maintain
    Counter Terrorist Clearance (CTC)
