Kura is delighted to be recruiting Platform Engineers for an innovative, forward-thinking Agri-Tech as we continue to build a best-in-class Software Lab in Belfast.

You'll be joining at a pivotal moment, shaping the future where machinery, robotics, and software come together to deliver game-changing value for customers.

Job: Platform Engineer

As a DevOps / Platform Engineer, you will pioneer the digital transformation of agriculture, empowering software development and data engineering teams to deliver and run intelligent, connected solutions for next generation farming.

Our client's Edge platform supports efficient dairy farm operations and enables reliable processes and seamless data exchange between local sensors, on-site systems and cloud-based services.

This is a new team And a chance to make great impact being involved in conceptual work and drawing up POC's with new service lines.

As Platform Engineer your key responsibilities will be the following:

  • CI/CD Platform
    : Setup, operate, and scale CI/CD platforms (GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Nexus) to enable efficient software delivery across development teams.
  • Service Integration:
    Support software development teams to implement and run services on the edge platform.
  • Fleet Management:
    Setup, refine and maintain a central management system for edge devices across multiple agricultural sites.
  • Device Provisioning & Automation:
    Implement automated provisioning workflows using DevOps tools and infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Centralized Update Management:
    Plan and execute firmware and software updates with minimal disruption to farm operations.
  • Cloud & Platform Integration:
    Connect edge devices to cloud services and central platforms using secure and reliable protocols.
  • Security & Compliance:
    Apply
    processes and solutions to enforce security policies, manage certificates, and ensure secure device communication
  • Logging & Monitoring:
    Ensure operational reliability, availability and performance through centralized monitoring and logging solutions.
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting:
    Setup and maintain solutions to identify, resolve, and prevent operational issues.

What we're seeking for in candidates?

  • Strong foundation in Computer Science, automation technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with industrial edge devices is desirable
  • Background in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and containerization.
  • Proficient in working with Linux, networking setups and common IoT protocols.
  • Self-motivated, structured working style with a collaborative mindset and willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Excellent English is essential with a passion to drive sustainable practices across Agriculture
