The Role

We're looking for an AI Developer Tooling Engineer to own and evolve the suite of internal AI tools that power Fanvue. You'll work closely with our engineering team to raise productivity, accelerate feature delivery, and help shape how AI transforms our development process. This role is about discovering and testing the best AI solutions, embedding them into workflows, and enabling every engineer at Fanvue to do their best work faster.

What You'll Do

  • Experiment with emerging coding agents and workflows, rolling out the most impactful solutions across engineering.

  • Operate and scale MCP servers and related infrastructure to optimise development speed and reliability.

  • Document best practices and create an AI-ready knowledge base that empowers engineers and LLMs alike.

  • Demonstrate measurable improvements in developer efficiency through AI-driven solutions.

  • Shape the future AI tool stack at Fanvue and drive adoption across the team.

Who You Are
  • Proven software engineering experience with TypeScript in production environments.

  • Hands-on expertise with Cursor and Claude Code, plus familiarity with tools like CodeRabbit.

  • Experience running Context 7, Puppeteer, MCP Compass or comparable servers.

  • Solid understanding of , Express, and modern front-end/back-end tooling.

  • Strong Git/GitHub workflow knowledge (PR review, CI/CD, trunk-based development).

  • Deep understanding of LLM fundamentals — RAG pipelines, embeddings, fine-tuning, tokenization, performance trade-offs.

  • Broad knowledge of the LLM model landscape and practical prompting expertise across technical and creative tasks.

  • Secure coding mindset and confidence working with local and containerised dev environments.

  • Experience working with AWS.

Nice-to-haves

  • Built and shipped projects powered by AI.

  • Experience with n8n.

  • Exposure to additional coding agents like Aider, Cline, or GitHub Copilot.

  • Familiarity with AWS CDK.

You'll Thrive Here If
  • You take ownership and move fast without needing direction.

  • You're energised by autonomy and experimentation.

  • You love testing new AI tools and seeing how they can unlock speed and creativity.

  • You bring a creative spark that helps apply AI breakthroughs to real engineering challenges.

You'll Struggle Here If
  • You need constant direction or micro-management.

  • You shy away from defending your ideas or pivoting when the data proves otherwise.

  • You're not self-motivated.

Why Join Fanvue?
  • Competitive salary and benefits package

  • Work with a talented, mission-driven team dedicated to empowering creators worldwide

  • A culture that values innovation, excellence, ownership, transparency, and speed

  • Unlimited holiday

  • Remote working

  • Flexible hours, according to when you perform best

  • Budget for growth and wellbeing
