Farm Trader

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Trader to join our agricultural team. The successful candidate will be responsible in looking after a book of farming accounts, placing buy back contracts, making spot deals and selling seed and nutrition to support the buy back. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about sustainable agriculture and eager to develop their trading expertise within a professional environment. Candidates should possess excellent communication, empathy, ambition and energy.

Responsibilities

· Expand the company's grain and specialist crop purchasing network by securing new contracts and increasing contracted area/tonnage.

· Build, strengthen, and maintain long-term relationships with farmers and growers across the region.

· Actively identify business opportunities, supporting the Grain Director with market insights and commercial intelligence.

· Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and forward agreements in line with company objectives.

· Provide exceptional on-farm support and advice, ensuring growers feel confident, informed, and valued.

· Contribute to business development initiatives through creative thinking, market research, and a proactive approach to growth.

· Maintain accurate records and reporting to support trading decisions and operational planning.

Qualifications

· Minimum 3 years' experience in agricultural sales, grain buying, or farm trading.

· Strong understanding of the seed and grain markets.

· Agricultural qualification (Degree, HND, or equivalent) is advantageous.

· Proven ability to build rapport with farmers and develop trusted commercial relationships.
